The Department of Psychiatry has a regular out patient service, 30 bedded indoor facility (15 male & 15 female)and renders regular services of Clinical Psychologists and Social Workers.All types of treatment modalities i.e. Psychological assessment, Psycho -pharmalogical, Electroconvulsive therapy, Psychotherapies, Counseling, Behaviour therapy and Biofeedback.The department also runs three special Clinics viz; Geriatric, De-Addiction, Child and adolescent guidance.
The department has a strong teaching program which includes U.G. Teaching using modern teaching aids and also Post Graduate teaching: The department runs Post Graduate course (M.D. psychiatry) since the year 2010.At present there are 2 M.D. Psychiatry seats.PG teaching includes one seminar, one lecture, two case  presentationsand one journal club per week and one clinicopathological conference every 2 weeks.

  1. Psychiatric Morbidity, socio cultural factors and quality of life in leprosy patients living in Leprosy home.
  2.  Psychiatric Morbidity , socio cultural factors and personality factors in patients with Diabetes Mellitus
  3. Prevalence of Sleep Disorders in Paramedical students.
