The Gastroenterology department at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Hospitals was established in 2016 and is highly developed with modern technology. It consists of three faculties and nine residents, providing most efficient facilities for outpatient and inpatient care, intensive care, and endoscopy.

The residents receive specialised training in clinical skills and endoscopic procedures through a dedicated teaching and training programme.
