Physiotherapy College of Mahatma Gandhi University Medical Sciences & Technology

Mahatma Gandhi Physiotherapy College was established in the year 2005 with intake capacity of 30 students in BPT course. The intake capacity of BPT has been increased to 60 students w.e.f. batch-2014-15, and was further increased to 80 students w.e.f. batch 2016-2017. It remained affiliated to Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur till the session 2010-11. After the establishment of Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Sciences & Technology, Jaipur in May, 2011 the college became an integral part of the MGUMST. Our College has been recognized by “Indian Association of Physiotherapists”. Since beginning, the college has consistently worked towards elevating academic standards in the field of Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation. MPT course was started in the college w.e.f. the year 2012. MG Physiotherapy College is attached with Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Hospital which is nearly 1000 bedded multispecialty & super specialty hospital. Physiotherapy department of MG Hospital is well equipped with all modern facilities. Therapeutic facilities are provided by our qualified & experienced faculty members.

Course Highlights

The physical therapy graduates evaluate neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, sensory motor and related cardiovascular and respiratory functions of patients and treat them by various natural physical modalities such as Therapeutic Exercises, Mobilization, traction, manipulation, electricity, magnetism, light, heat, water, ice, ultrasound, laser. Modern physical therapy isn’t just the application of individual modalities but the adaptation of a total system of care that includes patient evaluation, treatment planning, treatment application, modification of treatment, in accordance with the change in patient’s signs and symptoms.

Physical therapy deals with patients of various age groups. It also aims at correction of posture and movement disorders to improve the physique and quality of life.

The college infrastructure is well furnished with all modern facilities.

A career in physical therapy is desirable for science students who are interested in health sciences and enjoy working with patients. Physical therapy graduates have a wide range of opportunities in physiotherapy colleges, private and govt. Hospitals, community hospitals, nursing homes, senior care Centre’s, home and domiciliary care services, special schools, sports institutes (sports teams), gymnasiums, health clubs and clinics, private practices and government agencies. They cans also pursue post-graduation in specialized fields such as orthopedics, neurology, sports, cardiorespiratory conditions etc. further they can also specialize in techniques such as manual therapy and electrotherapy etc.

INTAKE CAPACITY:

BPT – 80 per annum (from 2016)
