The Department of Anaesthesiology at MGMCH is conducting MD (Anaesthesiology) course since 2009. We have approval for 32 NMC recognized MD seats yearly. The 3 year post graduate course in the department is as per NMC norms, quite sought after due to intensive teaching and rigorous diverse training with hands on in different types of surgery.

Course Overview

MD Anesthesiology students are trained for continuous medical care before, during, and after operation to permit the surgeons to perform surgeries with best outcome. As our department is a part of super speciality hospital, students gets good exposure of high quality exposure of cardiac, neuro, onco and transplant anesthesiology peri- operative medical and intensive care.

Career Path

After completion of course students are trained in

  • Providing anesthesia care of all general and super speciality surgical cases.
  • Difficult airway management including fiberoptic intubations.
  • USG guided Advanced Regional and neuraxial blocks.
  • Advanced Hemodynamic monitoring and management.
  • AHA accredited Cardio pulmonary Resuscitation.
  • Intensive care management.
