The Department of Hospital Administration was conceptualised and established in MGMCH during the year 2019. MGUMST has applied to the then MCI for permission to start MD (Hospital Administration) Course. Letter of Permission (LOP) was received in Jan 2020 consequent upon successful Inspection of the Department.

Thus, MGMCH became the very first Medical College in the state of Rajasthan, both in Govt and private sector, to commence post graduate studies in the speciality of Hospital Administration. Admission to MD (Hospital Administration) course is through NEET PG. It is envisaged to evolve the Department into a centre of excellence for teaching, training and research in the field of Hospital Administration and Management.

Course Overview

MD (Hospital Administration) course is a regular, three year, full-time program, designed to equip students with the skills necessary to excel in healthcare management. The industry-focused curriculum integrates management competencies with healthcare systems management, allowing students to effectively manage public health programs, public health facilities, corporate and government hospitals, and consultancy projects. Students will be exposed to a wide range of topics such as healthcare policy, health economics, healthcare finance, healthcare operations management and other relevant modules. The highly experienced faculty members are passionate about sharing their knowledge and experience to ensure that students receive highest quality education. Students are provided concurrent hospital/ field exposure besides class room studies. The state-of-the-art facilities available in Mahatma Gandhi Hospital (MGH) – a 1450 bed modern tertiary care hospital with 300 ICU beds and 33 Operating Rooms, allow students access to cutting-edge technology enabling them to stay ahead of the curve.
