MD in PMR (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) is a PG education in the field of rehabilitation and restoration from medical conditions related to neuro-musculo-skeletal, cardiovascular, and pulmonary systems. It helps to avoid medical conditions such as disability and limitation of physical activity.

Course Overview

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation focuses on the restoration of function in people with a wide range of disabling injuries and illnesses. It is not an organ-based specialty. Rather, it deals with the whole person. These disabilities may arise from conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system such as neck and back pain, sports injuries, or other painful conditions affecting the limbs, for example, carpal tunnel syndrome. The primary goal of the physiatrist is to achieve maximal restoration of physical, psychological, social, and vocational function through comprehensive rehabilitation

Career Path

Post graduates can work as pain physicians, practice as palliative medicine physicians and manage holistic centers and hospice care.
