Department of Cardiology at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Hospital is an advanced cardiac care centers in state of Rajasthan, using highly advanced technology.

Course Overview

D.M Cardiology course of the department offers comprehensive training is all spheres of Cardiology – Basic Sciences, Clinical Cardiology, Intensive Cardiac Care, Preventive Cardiology, Non-Invasive Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology Procedures involving Coronary Arteries, Peripheral Arteries, Structural Heart Diseases, Pediatric Interventional Cardiology and Electrophysiology. Electrophysiology procedures, RF Ablation and Device implantation like Pacemakers, AICD and CRTD are done routinely. Students are given adequate hands-on practical training in various procedures besides bedside teaching, seminars and research projects. The emphasis is on interactive teaching and skill development with aim to produce best quality of next generation cardiologists. The course is of 3 years duration and MCI (NMC) has approved four DM Cardiology seats per year in 2018.

Career Path

The Career Opportunities after DM (Cardiology) from MGH are plentiful in both public sector and private sector. After successfully completing the course one can find appointment as faculty in teaching hospital or research institution besides clinical practice in public sector and private sector hospital.

The students after passing out from MGH are well trained and confident enough to start their independent practice. One can also pursue advanced fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology or Structural Heart diseases in Indian and foreign institutions/universities.
