Dr. Vivek Anand Saraswat is presently the Professor and Head, Department of Hepatology, Pancreato-biliary Sciences and Liver Transplantation, at the Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Jaipur since October 2021. Formerly he was, Professor and Head, Department of Gastroenterology, at SGPGIMS, Lucknow, from July 2012 to September 2021, where he produced over 118 DM (Gastroenterology) alumni in 33 years. He is one of the leading clinicians, teachers and researchers in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in India.

    His interest in Hepatology include liver cirrhosis and its complications, particularly in minimal and overt hepatic encephalopathy, cerebral edema in liver diseases, ascites management, Acute-on-Chronic Liver Failure (ACLF), Acute Liver Failure (ALF) Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS), management of chronic Viral Hepatitis B and C and in all aspects of liver transplantation.

    His interests in pancreatobiliary disorders include endoscopic management of Bile Duct Injury (BDI)), Benign Biliary Strictures (BBS), portal cavernoma cholangiopathy (PCC), difficult CBD calculi (ESWL, Spyglass and laser), malignant extrahepatic biliary obstruction (MEHBO), pancreatic endotherapy for pain, calculi, strictures, pancreas divisum, DPDS, etc.
