For teaching and training of post graduate students, besides a very rigorous teaching program comprising of seminars, case presentations, journal clubs, we regularly organize guest lectures and CME program on important areas of clinical importance.

We also organize tutorials for small group 1:1 interactive teaching involving demonstration. We regularly conduct OR (OPERATION ROOM) teaching and training of procedures to post graduate students. We organize workshops for training of PG students where experts demonstrate and students get an opportunity to do hand-on training on models, mannequins and simulators.

The dept. is equipped to provide excellent peri operative care to our patients. The dept regularly runs pre anesthetic clinic for examination and optimization of surgical patients. More than 30 state of the art operation theaters with modern monitoring and advanced anesthesia work stations are available for various routine and high risk surgeries pertaining to different specialties. An independent pre operative holding area and fully equipped post anesthesia care unit (PACU) is attached to the operation theaters.

The dept also provides acute pain and peri operative pain management as well as labor analgesia services.

The dept of anaesthesiology provides non operating room anaesthesia (NORA) and monitored anaesthesia care(MAC) in areas remote from operation room viz MRI, CT Scan suits, PET scan suits, ERCP, CATH LAB etc. to name a few.

The dept regularly conducts and provides faculty for Basic Life Support(BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support(ACLS) accredited by American Heart Association(AHA).
